David Scott has spent his entire professional career in the world of finance. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alaska in 1988, Dave became a professional accountant and worked in both public and private accounting. In 2005 he became a financial advisor with Edward Jones Investments. In 2008 Dave became an independent financial advisor and started his own firm - Scott Financial Services, LLC. - which utilized the custodial services of LPL Financial. In 2009 Dave’s firm acquired Jim Schmidt Financial Services, Inc., another firm operating using the services of LPL Financial and rebranded using the LPL Financial name. Jim Schmidt had a career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones and LPL Financial in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan spanning over 30 years and retired in 2010. In 2024 Dave became business partners with Nicholas J. Kibble.
 
Nick received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 2012 and began his professional career in banking, working up to Vice President and Commercial Lending Officer before pivoting his career to business consulting and then finding his true passion as a financial advisor with Dave at LPL Financial, eventually becoming a Partner in the practice in early 2024

Unlike many other brokerage firms, LPL Financial does not develop its own investment products, which enables advisors with LPL Financial to devote their time and energy not to product quotas and sales goals, but to understanding your individual financial objectives.

We will adhere to the highest ethical standards and constantly strive to increase our knowledge of the industry through additional certifications and training. We will listen to our clients and work to address their individual investment objectives on an individual level.

In the course of a lifetime, there are several critical “lifetime changes.” These include marriage, divorce, property sale and/or acquisition, new child, new grandchild, new home, retirement, and even death.

If you meet anyone who is new to the area, recently retired or about to retire, changing jobs, or dissatisfied with their current advisor, I welcome your referrals. It’s not a bad idea for someone going through such transitions to get a second opinion on any critical financial desicions
