Remi, Office Mascot (RIP 2013-2026)

Background

Our sweet, brindle-coated boxer, Remi, was our beloved part-time office mascot from 2013–2026. With parents who loved the outdoors, she joined the family amid great excitement and expectations of nightly walks and weekend adventures. Remi, however, had ideas of her own. During her first few months at home, the mere mention of the word “walk” often sent her rolling onto her back—or running away to hide. She eventually accepted her daily exercise with slightly less reluctance, although enthusiasm for it was never exactly her trademark.

Education

Remi never attended college herself, but she watched her two older brothers leave for—and return from—that mysterious place many times. She was always overjoyed to welcome them home, no matter how long they had been away, and especially sad whenever they packed up to leave again. Although she never achieved her own dreams of higher education, she perfected the art of sleeping and, despite her official position as office mascot, rarely made it into the office.

Words to Live By

Remi loved rawhide bones but had a habit of eating them far too quickly, which inevitably led to choking and gagging—and ultimately to Mom and Dad taking them away. She missed them terribly.

Her words of wisdom were simple: “Slow down and chew your food!”

Remi brought laughter, affection, and plenty of personality to her family and our office. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
